Colorado Springs, CO – The first-ever NACS Football Friendly Tournament took place on July 28, 2024, at Cottonwood Creek Park and turned out to be a resounding success. Organized by the Nepalese Association of Colorado Springs (NACS), the event brought together community members for a day of sports, unity, and camaraderie.
The tournament featured four teams: Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, and Sagarmatha, all named after Nepal’s iconic mountains. After a day filled with exciting matches, Team Annapurna emerged victorious, clinching the title in the final match. The other teams—Sagarmatha, Machhapuchhre, and Manaslu—each secured at least one win, showcasing incredible talent and determination throughout the event.
The matches were played in a spirit of true sportsmanship, creating a friendly and fun atmosphere that resonated with both players and spectators. Families, supporters, and volunteers turned up in large numbers, contributing to the tournament’s lively and inclusive environment.
The event’s success was made possible by the exceptional work of the coordinating team: Achyut, Anil, Biplav, and Bikram, who managed to organize everything within just a week. Their efforts were supported by a dedicated group of volunteers, referees, medical staff, and officials, ensuring smooth operations and the safety of all participants.
Special gratitude was extended to the event’s Breakfast Sponsor, Roshan Bogati (Realtor), for his invaluable support in making the tournament even more enjoyable for attendees.
The NACS Football Friendly Tournament wasn’t just about sports—it was a celebration of community, friendship, and brotherhood. From the competitive matches to the post-event cleanup efforts by volunteers, the event exemplified the spirit of togetherness and collective effort.
With such a positive response and a great turnout, participants and spectators alike are already looking forward to the next edition, which promises to be even bigger and better.
