Nepali New Year 2082 Musical Concert Celebration
On April 19, 2025, the Nepalese Association of Colorado Springs (NACS) proudly organized a vibrant musical concert at the Masonic Center, located at 1150 Panorama Drive, Colorado Springs, to celebrate Nepali New Year 2082. From 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, over 200 guests gathered for an evening filled with music, culture, and community spirit. Tickets were priced at $30.00, with special discounts offered for seniors and NACS members, while children aged 12 and under enjoyed free entry.
The celebration commenced with the traditional lighting of the Deep by special guest, Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade. The evening continued with heartfelt performances of the national anthems of Nepal and the United States by talented NACS kids. Mayor Mobolade was warmly welcomed with a traditional Nepali Dhaka topi and dosalla, symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of Nepal.
The highlight of the night was a mesmerizing performance by renowned Nepali artist Deepesh Kishor Bhattarai, who captivated the audience with his iconic songs such as Ekai Najar Ma, Hos Haraye Pani Mayalu, and Bhedako Oon Jasto. Local artists also graced the stage with their performances, adding to the lively and festive atmosphere. Many attendees further embraced the spirit of the occasion by donning beautiful traditional Nepali attire.
Guests were treated to a variety of delicious food, including favorites like Pakora, Chicken Chilly, Fries, Butter Rice, Chicken Curry, Aalu Cauli, Chana Masala, Kakra Aachar, Tomato Aachar, and Naan, complemented by an array of desserts such as Yoghurt, Jeeri, Gulab Jamun, and Rasbari.
